Biography

Mezzo-soprano Cecelia Hall sings leading roles as a member of Oper Frankfurt’s prestigious ensemble and appears regularly as a guest artist on many of the world’s finest stages, including The Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Canadian Opera Company, Opera Philadelphia, and Munich’s Bavarian Staatsoper. A noted recitalist, Hall has appeared at New York’s Carnegie Hall and London’s Wigmore Hall. Her concert highlights have included Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Carnegie Hall with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s conducted by Harry Bicket, and Mozart’s Mass in C minor and Requiem with Louis Langrée at the Mostly Mozart Festival.

Hall’s 2023–24 season highlights include the title role in a new production of Rossini’s La Cenerentola for Boston Lyric Opera and the title role in a new production of Mozart’s Ascanio in Alba at Oper Frankfurt. Her New York Philharmonic performances this season mark her first return since her debut with the Orchestra, on a Young People’s Concert in March 2010.
