Opening Night Gala Celebration of the New York Philharmonic’s 169th Season

Music Director Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic join forces with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis, music director and trumpet, for the U.S. Premiere of Mr. Marsalis’s new work - Swing Symphony (Symphony No. 3) - (a Co-Commission by the New York Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and The Barbican).

Mr. Gilbert also leads the Philharmonic in

    R. Strauss - Don Juan
    Hindemith - Symphonic Metamorphoses on
                      Themes by Carl Maria von Weber
