About Erich Leinsdorf

Erich Leinsdorf (1912-92) was one of the most erudite conductors of the 20th century, as well as a lecturer, pianist, and essayist. His relationship with the New York Philharmonic was unique: he conducted nearly 400 performances - more than any other guest conductor. In 1992 he was made an Honorary Member of the Philharmonic-Symphony Society. The maestro arranged for his complete score collection to reside permanently in the Philharmonic Archives.

With Deep Appreciation

The annual Erich Leinsdorf Lecture is made possible through a generous endowment gift from Mrs. Erich Leinsdorf.
