Pianist Jonathan Feldman has performed around the world with artists including Nathan Milstein, Itzhak Perlman, Gil Shaham, James Galway, Joshua Bell, Midori, and Emanuel Pahud. He joined the collaborative piano department at The Juilliard School in 1989 and was its chairman from 1991 to 2017, and joined the New England Conservatory faculty in 2011. In addition to his studio teaching and coaching, he has given master classes throughout the U.S. and the Far East, and has lectured at international festivals and competitions. He has participated in many summer music festivals, notably as Music Academy of the West’s director of the collaborative piano program since 2005. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic Ensembles and as the New York Philharmonic’s orchestral keyboard player at home and on tour. Mr. Feldman has recorded for the Angel / EMI, Columbia Masterworks, DGG, RCA Red Seal, Naxos, Nonesuch, Summit, Cala, and Avie Records labels, and can be heard on sound tracks for many movies, including Music of the Heart, with Meryl Streep, and the Coen Brothers’ The Man Who Wasn’t There.
